The Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for researching and forming the basis for accounting positions related to transactions entered into by the Company, as well as the first-level preparation of the Company’s internal and external financial statements and footnotes. This position ensures financial and accounting information is prepared in accordance with GAAP along with company policies, procedures, controls, programs, and practices.  The Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager also assists with the preparation of compliance certificates and statutory reports. 

Essential Functions:

1.      Responsible for ensuring that the information reported in the Company’s financial statements is in compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.  This includes the application of relevant accounting guidance to financial transactions, as well as verifying that all appropriate disclosures are made in the Company’s financial statements.

2.      Assists with the monthly accounting close, general ledger and consolidation.

3.      Assists with the annual financial statement audit and quarterly interim financial statement reviews through to completion when the financial statements are issued.

4.      Assists with the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, compliance certificates and statutory audits.

5.      Assists with the maintenance and monitoring of the internal controls system including implementing action plans developed by management to remediate control gaps and deficiencies.

6.      Prepares monthly analytics comparing actual results to prior periods and to budget.

7.      Responsible for keeping informed of changes to accounting literature, regulations and trends to ensure the company is effective and compliant with accounting regulations.

8.      Contributes to the development of finance and accounting policies, procedures and practices for the department.

9.       Maintains all accounting data in accordance with company specific policies, confidentiality, procedures and practices.

10.      Adheres to the Company’s internal control system.

Skills & Experience

1.    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.  CPA or international equivalent required.  Master’s degree preferred.

2.    3+ year’s work experience in an independent public accounting firm of recognized national standing or similar experience working for a publicly traded organization with >$100 million of revenue

3.    Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferably in the field of media and entertainment.

4.    Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and Management in both written and verbal form.

5.    Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

6.    Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

7.    Strong working knowledge of general ledger, ERP systems (JD Edwards experience a plus) and broad finance skills

8.    Expert level ability in Microsoft Excel. 

9.     Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial information to members of Management.

10.   Excellent organizational skills with an attention to details.

11.   Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.

12.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook and ability to learn other basic computer programs.

Our office consists of people who are passionate, dedicated and innovative. Under general supervision, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for functions in the accounting and budgetary processes. This position applies fundamental fiscal concepts, provides financial support in operational meetings, and in the general preparation and administration of short and long range budgetary projections. This position is also responsible for general accounting activities in order to maintain complete, accurate, and timely financial data in accordance with GAAP, company policies, procedures, programs, and practices.

Responsibilities:

1.      Provides general financial support and analysis over multiple revenue streams, including Residential, Commercial, and Digital Pay-Per-View and Fight Pass Subscription revenue.

2.      Provides fiscal and organizational advice to representatives of assigned departments regarding projected programs and objectives according to established budgetary procedures.

3.      Utilizes various computer financial information systems in the preparation of analysis, evaluations and reports relating to assigned areas.

4.      Prepares month end journal entries including, but not limited to, Pay-Per-View and Fight Pass Subscription revenue streams.

5.      Prepares and analyzes various month end balance sheet account reconciliations assigned and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

6.      Assists in performing a high level analytical review of multiple revenue streams as well as other PL line areas assigned at month end.

7.      Assists with compiling, calculating and maintaining documentation for various vendors, contracts, events and content programming.

8.      Assists in reviewing account coding on vendor invoices.

9.      Provides support to Management with special inquiries, projects, and ad hoc analysis.

10.  Contributes to the development of finance and accounting policies, procedures and practices for the department.

11.  Maintains accounting data in accordance with company specific policies, confidentiality, procedures and practices.

Skills & Experience:

1.      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

2.      2+ years experience in an Accounting, Finance or Business Analyst role.

3.      Master’s degree and/or CPA or international equivalent preferred, but not required.

4.      Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, data tables, simulations & solver, Vlookup, Hlookup, etc.).

5.      Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferably in the field of media and entertainment.

6.      Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and management in both written and verbal form.

7.      Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

8.      Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

9.      Technical skills and experience in financial reporting and cash flow management.

10.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn other basic computer programs. Experience with JD Edwards, budgeting software and databases is a plus.

11.  Excellent organizational skills with an attention to details.

12.  Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
