This program offers you the opportunity to become directly involved in the legal and policy matters that are part of the daily operations of the department. We strive to make this a challenging and interesting experience for you and try to make every effort to tailor it to the specific skills, and projects that you would like to be included in. This department deals with significant contractual and negotiation responsibilities including, venue agreements, sponsorship contracts, merchandise agreements, fighter contracts, television agreements and other entertainment-related agreements. This department also works on various intellectual property issues including anti-piracy and other unauthorized uses of content and UFC property.

Position Summary:

1. Assists legal department in business and legal affairs for all day-to-day activities.
2. Drafts agreements with appropriate supervision.
3. Drafts merchandise license agreements for various consumer products and services including games, apparel, and publishing.
4. Drafts production agreements, including production services, talent, content, fighter, underlying rights, etc, and production related business transactions.
5. Assists in the administration of a variety of distribution and bout agreements.
6. Assists in matters of due diligence and document review and preparation for major transactions, as necessary.
7. Assists with identifying and addressing illegal uses of UFC owned assets.
8. Gathers evidence for trademark applications and oppositions.
9. Prepares copyright applications.
10. Assists in other transactions, general corporate governance matters, employment law research, and international expansion as they arise.
11. Assists with other general business and legal affairs projects as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
 

You would be expected to be able to conduct research projects and draft contracts with appropriate supervision. You may also be called upon to draft correspondence, track pending legislation, and to otherwise assist the Legal team with their duties.

1. 2nd or 3rd year law student.
2. Solid written and verbal communication skills.
3. Interest in one or more of the following areas of law: entertainment, intellectual property, international, corporate, transactional.
4. Ability to organize and effectively present analysis and concepts.
5. Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
6. Excellent organizational skills.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn other basic computer programs.


This is a paid position but the selected intern(s) are responsible for selecting and providing their own housing, relocation and transportation if necessary.

We are currently seeking an intern for our Public Relations department. This internship will work closely with the Publicists and Media Relations Coordinators.

Through this opportunity, you will learn entry level public relations, and will have the opportunity to learn and observe the activities that go into promoting a dynamic, fast-paced entertainment and sports organization, events, and athletes. You will receive exposure to all facets of public relations, including press releases, media relations, special events, and creative brainstorming.

Daily activities will include the following:

- Coordination media events and managing media.
- Researching writers
- Assisting with maintenance of the media database
- Coordinating schedules for fighters in conjunction with events
- Drafting press releases
- Coordinating interviews for events
- Assisting with drafting media pitches
- Assisting with daily news tracking, compilation and distribution

We are seeking candidates that are:

- Public Relations, Journalism, English or Communications majors
- Should be very proficient in Microsoft Word
- Proficient in writing and editing copy
- Have the desire and ability to create compelling, unique stories and ideas
- Is comfortable in meetings and calls with high profile people and media entities
- Has excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information
- Team player
- Willing to learn and grow

Requirements:

- Must be enrolled in an academic program that is relevant to public relations activities

Position Summary:

At the UFC Performance Institute (UFCPI) we deliver performance-impacting physical preparation, sport science, and medical services to the worlds best MMA and combat athletes.  Our core values are aligned to maximizing the health & wellbeing of UFC athletes, and to support athletes and coaches optimize their training, preparation, and ultimately performance in the octagon.

The UFCPI is seeking a Sports Nutrition Intern to support the delivery of nutrition services within our new state-of-the-art facility.  The internship will assist the Director of Sports Nutrition in delivering nutrition services to elite MMA athletes accessing the UFCPI on a daily basis.  The Intern will have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of essential tasks; including athlete fueling, recovery and regeneration activities, food service, management of product and supplies, athlete education, and other associated tasks as required. The intern will be required to establish strong personal working relationships with athletes and coaches, and will be required to work independently in supporting our Sport Nutrition mission.  Nutritional support represents a critical component in the UFCPI’s portfolio of services, and this internship position is central in supporting our efforts to provide world-leading services to MMA athletes. 

In addition to the monetary compensation provided, this position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of sports nutrition.  The internship supports the fulfillment of any credit hours towards a degree program, and the successful candidate will gain hands on experience working with elite athletes.

Responsibilities:

1.      Assist the Director of Sport Nutrition in any sport nutrition-related tasks

2.      Manage fuel stations and undertake the preparation of fuelling and/or recovery nutrition as required.

3.      Assist the Director of Nutrition in planning and preparing snacks and meal plans.

4.      Deliver small group and/or individual athlete education as required.

5.      Ensure clean and hygienic nutritional environments within the facility

6.      Act in an inter-disciplinary role with other technical areas as required.

Skills & Experience:

1.      Candidates must be enrolled in an institution of higher education AND be receiving class credit for the internship experience.

2.      Candidates must possess or be working towards an RD or CSSD certification.

3.      Candidates must have an outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.

4.      Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently on assigned tasks and to deliver outcome goals effectively.

5.      Candidates must have a strong desire to work with elite combat athletes.

6.      Experience of working with athletes from weight-categorized sports is desired.

Should be able to work a minimum of 30+ hours per week if also attending school or 35+ hours per week if not currently attending classes.

Our office consists of people who are passionate, dedicated and innovative people. The tasks associated with this internship will fall into two categories:

1)      Media

     a.       Planning – work with the department staff on planning elements of media promotion for UFC PPV events, FIGHT PASS marketing, and other promotions as they arise

     b.      Buying – work with the staff in coordinating internal and external buying parties such as media agencies for media buys

     c.       Reporting – work with the team compiling post-campaign results analysis of media performance, which will involve:

                 i.      Collecting proof-of-performance documentation from media partners

                ii.      Compiling and tracking event-to-event Key Performance Indicators

2)      Marketing Campaigns

     a.       Planning – determining target market segments for each individual campaign as the particulars dictate,

     b.      Executing – requesting creative treatments from production and creative departments

     c.       Tracking the delivery of all creative campaign elements

     d.      Distribution of campaign elements to affiliate partners

     e.      Cross-departmental communication and fulfillment of campaign elements

Specifically, the intern will work on promotions within the semester related to upcoming Pay-Per-View events. For summer, 2017, they will be asked to gather post-event performance data, compile results and build “campaign books” for the events.  The intern will also attend meetings and conference calls with media agency partners, and other partners to gain an understanding of the nuances of building marketing campaigns in support of live televised events.

The intern will learn from the ground up the processes of building a Pay-Per-View Television tune in marketing campaign, from budgeting and planning, to the development of messaging and creative, to the targeting of high propensity segments, to the execution of media buys and fulfillment of campaign materials, to the analysis of campaign performance after the dust settles.
