Internship - Event Marketing - Summer 2014 - Ultimate Fighting Championship (Las Vegas, NV)

While the Ultimate Fighting Championship is home to some of the best athletes in the world, it also boasts a championship-caliber staff comprised of the some of the world’s most talented sports professionals. This program offers you, as the intern, the opportunity to become directly involved in the day to day activities in the Event Marketing Department at Zuffa. We strive to make your internship experience challenging and interesting and make every effort to tailor it to your specific career aspirations.

As an intern with Event Marketing you will:

- Assist with organizing and formatting the event schedule.
- Research competitive events in the markets we go into.
- Assist with preparation for meetings with current and prospective on-sale marketing and arena partners.
- Assist with preparation of presentation materials for meetings.
- Help activate Street Team initiatives.
- Put together in-depth research of potential event markets.
- Brainstorm creative ways to promote ticket sales.
- Create event recaps of ticket sales, executed promotions, marketing tactics and activations in the market.
- Research all the trends happening in sports and live events, and the marketing tactics being used.

- Support the Event Development team on various projects as needed.

We are seeking candidates that are:

- Sports Management, Marketing or Business majors, or other programs relevant to business development and sales. Junior, Senior or Graduate level preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Outgoing friendly personality with excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
- Team player.
- Willing to learn and grow.

Requirements:

- Must be enrolled in relevant academic program. Candidates that have already graduated at the start of the internship are not eligible unless you are receiving academic credit.
- Must receive academic credit for the internship.
- Should be able to work a minimum of 20+ hours per week if also attending school or 35+ hours per week if not currently attending classes.

Internship - New Media and Web - Summer 2014 - Ultimate Fighting Championship (Las Vegas, NV)

Position Summary:

This program offers you the opportunity to become directly involved in UFC’s online and new media campaigns and initiatives. We strive to make this a challenging and interesting experience for you and try to make every effort to tailor it to the specific skills, and projects that you would like to be included in.Our Digital department is involved in promoting the UFC through new and emerging forms of technology and communication. Participants will get to experience some or all of the following:

1. Maintains and enhances the metadata master database
2. Assists with search engine optimization (SEO)
3. Assists in video publication to outside vendors and international partners
4. Participates in digital strategy and distribution 
5. Creates shells in the content management system (CMS) before events
6. Adds photos and links to all articles on www.ufc.com and Facebook
7. Links articles on event night as videos become ready
8. Mails prizes to winners
9. Scans websites and social media for event-related fighter content
10. Reviews existing digital venues (both online and mobile) for accuracy and timeliness of content
11. Supports digital team members on various projects as needed.

We are seeking candidates that are:

1. Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Management, Marketing, New Media or related field.
2. Interested in new and emerging forms of communication and technology.
3. Must have strong organizational skills, writing ability and a basic understanding of marketing concepts and techniques.
4. Should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
5. Ability and desire to work and learn in a fast-paced work environment.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Ability to analyze data.
8. Knowledge of social networking and new media outlets.

Requirements:

1. Must be enrolled in an accredited college and be receiving academic credit.
2. Must be able to work at least 30+ hours per week for summer semester and at least 20+ hours for fall or spring semesters.
